About Us

Our Mission: We are grassroots volunteers harnessing everyday people-power to free all communities from gun violence. We act to increase awareness, center survivors, amplify partners, and elect leaders who will champion gun safety legislation.

Grassroots4GVP is an advocacy group of Massachusetts volunteers committed to ending gun violence in our communities.

We believe empowered volunteers are essential to creating change locally. In fact, our seasoned gun violence prevention group of volunteers has witnessed the powerful difference that community-led grassroots actions can make.

Empowerment is key. We find truly grassroots organizing means being able to quickly and effectively respond to community and legislative needs. This is why we're embracing a bottom-up approach to the important advocacy work we do. In doing so, we are welcoming our ability to be nimble enough to leverage powerful local actions that make an immediate impact.

Together our founding team has more than 325 years of gun violence prevention volunteering experience, and is active across the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Our founders and members are known and trusted by school systems, state and local governments, and community-based organizations. We are regularly contacted by top-tier publications to provide a voice for this movement.

We are grateful to be fiscally sponsored by the Newtown Action Alliance.

Newtown Action Alliance helps us with the accounting and tax reporting that accompany fundraising, giving Grassroots4GVP the opportunity to concentrate on the key work of preventing gun violence.

We are a proud member of the Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence.
